Research confirms that specific probiotic strains, such as ones found within Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, are shelf-stable for up to 24 months. This was not the case in early probiotic strain development; advancements in science and manufacturing techniques have extended bacteria stability.

There are specific strains of bacteria that need to stay refrigerated; however, Ombre chooses not to utilize these strains. While Ombre’s probiotics are shelf stable for 24 months at room temperature, our probiotics can be refrigerated without any adverse effects on CFU count. Proper encapsulation, as we do, further protects our probiotics CFU viability.

Also, studies have shown that when bacteria such as Bifidobacterium strains are properly encapsulated, as we do, they have extensive viability beyond the 2-year shelf life.
